OUR MISSION

She Stories: Empowering Women from the Inside Out

Over the years, She Stories has fostered community through impactful initiatives like hosting Period Parties, where we gathered feminine hygiene products for unhoused women. Now, we are shifting gears and returning to our roots, focusing on meaningful, personal connections, self-worth and self-love.

She Stories was birthed during a heartfelt conversation between founder Ehmandah Ramsey and her hairstylist, Brenton Lee. Together, they launched Beautiful Inside Out, a transformative initiative where local hairstylists partner with She Stories to visit shelters and provide haircuts and styling for women in need.

This simple yet powerful act uplifts women by helping them feel beautiful—both inside and out. To make the experience even more special, each woman receives a small gift: an affirmation journal designed to inspire and encourage their journey of self-worth and empowerment.

Our first event served families at Union Station Homeless Services in Pasadena, where we had the privilege of connecting with and uplifting the community.

Even though we are shifting our focus, we will still gladly receive donations of feminine hygiene products to support our unhoused neighbors.

We are thrilled to relaunch Beautiful Inside Out and continue honoring our mission of fostering dignity, connection, and hope for women in our communities.

IT ALL STARTED WHEN…

She Stories received an invitation to collaborate with a salon for a period party, leading to the creation of over 200 period packs for homeless women and girls. This experience sparked the initiation of our own movement. During a visit to a stage play in downtown Inglewood, California, our founder, Ehmandah Ramsey, was approached by a homeless woman. Expecting a request for food, Ehmandah was surprised when the woman asked for a tampon. This encounter illuminated the essential nature of She Stories' work, highlighting the impact our services can have on the local community by providing women with dignity. It reinforced the belief that no woman should have to choose between having food and access to a tampon.

We have distributed over 1000 period packs to local shelters and homes in Los Angeles County.
